Beautiful setI've been buying and building lego sets for about 3 or 4 years now as my boy loves it. Specifically the Star Wars stuff. The Slave-1 set is absolutely beautiful when built. It took me two sittings to complete it over 2 days, each one about six hours long but it never got tedious as with the Sandcrawler, it was a very enjoyable build overall. I love the UCS sets especially as they take me back to my own childhood which I get a kick out of. This one is really true to the ship from The Empire Strikes Back. The minifigs are great also, especially the Boba Fett one which you will only find in this set. The latest one from the carbon freezing chamber looks almost identical but the printing on the arms is unique to the Slave-1 set. Even the box is beautiful. My one gripe though is that we never got a Lando Calrissian minifig which would have been entirely appropriate. A word of warning though, be careful where you choose to display it if you decide to use the stand as initially I placed it on top of a chest of drawers in an upstairs bedroom and when i walked past it you could clearly see it wobbling precariously. (being a sixteen stone lardbucket doesn't help!)
I may even buy another if I can get a discounted price because you can bet that this set's value will rocket once it goes out of production.
Overall, well worth the price, gorgeous to look at and by some distance, my favourite lego set.

Fantastic!I bought this kit for myself during a work trip to Canada, where I got my first chance to visit an actual Lego store. A hand to all the sales people at the Lego store in Toronto's Sherway Gardens!
I recently got back in to Lego after a long hiatus, having bought my last kits back in 1999 when the first Star Wars sets came out. This year with the new movie I got back into it and haven't looked back since. Getting the Slave 1 was a no-brainer as this is one of my all time favorite SW ships and I wanted to get the best there is, which this UCS model depicts. It's very detailed and an extremely enjoyable build and fantastic minifigures! I built mine spread out over maybe 6-7 nights, so it was a nice slow build.
The only downside is that once you go big like this kit, you're not drawn to the small stuff anymore. This is also definitely not a play kit, as it's very big and the construction is a bit fiddly when it comes to some of the details like the underside engines and parts of the red "skirt" around the ship.

Put Captain Solo in the Cargo HoldGiven the slightly hefty price tag and sheer size of this beast it is definitely more for the full on collector.
However that being said this is an amazing addition to any collection,
because of its larger size the level of detail is incredible, it was great fun to build and actually found myself taking a lot more time than i normally would to stretch out the build time. obviously the play-ability of this set is very low, its big bulky and heavy but again...more of a display piece.
Excellent kit all round and would recommend any collector to go out and buy this

Best.. Money.. Ever.. Spent.OMG this model is absolutely jaw dropping. It is an absolute honour to have your LEGO model displayed in my room to show off. This UCS set is in fact my first UCS ever, I didn't really find the build all that hard although I did miss some bits while assembling it so I wen't back once completed and fixed my problem.
Being this is my favourite Star wars craft, I am very pleased with the result. With a whopping 45cm in legth/height, this is the biggest LEGO model i have ever owned and will be for quite some time. I absolutely adore this set and I am glad I finally got it!
Ever since it was released in January earlier this year, I have been in love with this set, I only got it 2 weeks ago (15th September 2015) I was hoping to get it back in February but I got other sets instead, but I have it now so it's fine.
The minifigures included are absolutely astonishing. Especially Boba Fett. I really like the way the front hatch opens up and can clip the carbonite block to the hatch and close up for easy storage. I very much like the detail gone into the bottom of the ship, you don't see this much in LEGO sets but seems as the Slave I underside/back is a main part of the ship to see, it is a very important thing to capture in a fully completed model.
Overall I think I will give this set a 1000000000000000000/10 and give my full moral support to the designer!
