Rated 5 out of 5 by from "Why Would Storm Troopers want to slaughter Jawas? This set promises to endure the test of time as a UCS set. The Build is super fun, lots of iconic minifigures and great Attention was spent on detail designing it....much appreciated! I took my time and just enjoyed the process of building so I took a couple days to build and make some minor upgrades....although I'm waiting on some LED lighting parts to add to this Epic Set. I've heard split opinions on its playability vs. display appeal and I can honestly say yeah...if you completely redesign this thing and use an additional 2,000 pieces to incorporate SNOT technic and boost it to " minifigure" scale" ..sure you got a better sand crawler, however, at the Pricepoint Lego gave us and the extreme detail and thought that went into this I'm very happy as is. The only thing I actually improved on this set was the Sparse cockpit build...and borrowed some nice brown pieces from my Lord of the Rings "goblin King set":) Overall it's a great display piece and fully worthy of a UCS label...and would definitely reccomend this set.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome set, missing a plaque though I had been debating this set for a long time before finally giving in to temptation. My main thought that was holding me back was "Would it be worth the money?" All I can say is YES IT IS! With a huge piece count, immense detail and not to mention the sheer size of the finished set! Money well spent in my eyes. The only thing that I felt was missing was a display plaque, I was disappointed to find there was no plaque included with this set, all my other UCS sets have display plaques with them which makes the Sandcrawler look a little left out, I think it is a shame that such an epic set did not come with one. I would love for Lego to release a plaque as an extra as I am sure I'm not the only person wishing this set came with one. Other than that I think this set was absolutely awesome and 100% worth the money. I would recommend this set to anyone that is an avid Star Wars or Lego fan. Well done Lego!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Gruelling, Challenging but something is missing... What can I say? For a start this was the most difficult set I have built. For a number of reasons. 1. Lots of difficult Technic building techniques 3. Lots of parts! 2. Lots of brown and lots of small fiddly bits to test your attention span. Ultimately the build got a bit tedious towards the end but it is amazing how this thing comes together and it is a lot of fun to begin with. After about halfway I wanted to get it finished and on display my head hurt! Once I had it on display I was a little underwhelmed. I loved the Sandcrawler in the films but I was worried it would look a bit dull in Lego. I might be right but I haven't made my final decision. To summarise Pros 1. The minifigures and droids are cool 2. The techniques used to form the shape 3. Value for money and length of build 4. Solid build I would let my 6 year old nephew play with this set and there are some good play features he will enjoy. Cons 1. Final model looks a bit boring its just a brown box (stating the obvious here but I was expecting it to have something about it that i am just not getting) 2. Tedious in places but I don't think it could of been made any more interesting build wise. 3. Stickers some of them just look really bad I'm not even sure what they are meant to be so I just left them off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Sandcrawler The Sandcrawler is a very memorable vehicle from Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, due to it's capturing of C-3PO and R2-D2 and then the Jawas selling them to Uncle Owen and Luke Skywalker. This Lego set does a marvellous job of capturing the Sandcrawler's size, shape, unusual angles, and colouring. This is a very detailed model, and comes not only with C-3PO and R2-D2 but also most of the other droids that the Jawas were selling. The Jawas themselves are great minifigures, complete with hoods and glowing eyes. Also included are Luke in his regular Tatooine outfit, although a great upgrade from previous versions, and with better hair. Uncle Owen is a great minifigure and captures the character perfectly. The build itself is rather tricky, there's lots of technic pieces and unusual techniques used to create the Sandcrawler's unusual angles. The detail is wonderful, with plenty of playability as the Sandcrawler moves very well, although making the tracks for the wheels is time consuming and a bit repetitive. Inside there's a crane and plenty of storage for droids that the Jawas 'find', and almost all of the panels lift up or down to reveal areas inside. The instruction booklet is amazing, and gives lots of detail about the original Sandcrawler, including pictures of original blueprints and photos of scenes from the films. There's also a very interesting interview with the design team about how they created the model. This is an awesome set and looks great as a display piece. If you're a lego fan or a Star Wars fan, or both, then this is a must have!
