Rated 5 out of 5 by from TIE Silencer This TIE Fighter is obviously inspired by Darth Vader's TIE Advanced and the TIE Interceptor. It's real name is the TIE Silencer and Kylo Ren is an expert pilot thanks to the skills passed down from his father. The build is repetitive but that's the same for any TIE Fighter. However the techniques used are interesting and the finished model is very sturdy. Official images of this ship have been released and the movie accuracy appears very good. The scale of the model has been forsaken for detail - it is completely out of proportion with a Special Forces TIE fighter. The minifigures are incredible! Kylo Ren comes with a new head-piece showing his scar and it's dual sided - angry or very angry. The new fabric cape resembles the new one he has in the film. However I preferred a metallic grey lightsaber hilt rather than a black one. The TIE pilot's helmet finally has red stripes which wasn't included in the Special Forces TIE. BB-9E is a new First Order astromech and printed with a lot of detail. FAN FACT: On set BB-9E was referred to as 'Bee Bee Hate'. The First Order Stormtrooper completes the selection nicely. I think this is an amazing set and definitely one of the best from The Last Jedi range. It's price is quite high but it's still an amazing model. If you're going to start with one of The Last Jedi sets, then this is the one to start with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Let the! Kylo Rens personal fighter the TIE Silencer didn't have much screen time in the new movie but it leaves quite the impression. Sleek, nimble, powerful and intimidating looking this craft really exemplifies it's pilot, and this model does a great job of showing it off. Took about two hours building between me and my wife, engineering wise it's pretty impressive how the whole wing assembly is done, technic stud lengths through the body of the craft lend to a lot of stability even with the large wingspan. And large it most certainly is, dwarfing any other fighter class lego model I have, especially any previous TIE style ones [current ones being the Rebels TIE advanced prototype and the last stand alone Vaders TIE advanced], sporting a wide body and dagger like wing tips nearly double that. Colors fit Kylo's style of black, gray and highlights of red, detailed in all the right places with 'blaster' emitters at the tip of each wing and another in the gaps between the top and bottom wing ends. Has a good selection of minifigures too: of course coming with Kylor Ren, newly printed face to show the scar he'd received from Force Awakens, a First Order TIE pilot, First order Storm trooper [seems a lot of TIE sets have pilot and trooper together for some reason], and finally a semi minifig BB-9E so there is plenty of variety for play for younger builders. Overall just a really great set, good job Lego.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing model At first, I wasn't sure how much I would enjoy this set. After buying it anyways and building it, my mind is thoroughly changed. It is a very unique and striking ship. The build and set: True, the build is somewhat repetitive, but it is such an interesting build that it doesn't feel that way. Some cool and surprising techniques are used, especially for attaching the wings, and it made the build very enjoyable. And this is a solid set. It almost feels overbuilt, which is a good thing. It doesn't feel flimsy at all; everything is very well secured to make sure that it will not fall apart. Once completed, the set is quite imposing. Much larger than I thought, which is a good thing, and it has a nice weight too. Very swoosh-able!! And the detailing is just right. It just looks plain awesome. As a side note, lego has been doing a great job of building solid sets recently. Especially with these The Last Jedi sets, they seem so well designed and built, and I really appreciate that. I can enjoy playing with them and nothing is going to fall off or apart. Minifigs: Kylo Ren is great. His new outfit looks good, and the lightsaber is really cool. Stormtrooper. Can't have too many of these guys. BB-9e is cool too. Always nice to have a cool droid. TIE pilot is a home run! This is one of the coolest looking figs in awhile, and the printing is just great! Complaint: Only real complaint is that there is no controls in the cockpit. A viewscreen or joystick would have been really nice. But not really a big deal, you can always add that in yourself. Overall, this is a great set. It definitely merits a place in your collection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New Member of the Tie Family This is a pretty decent set. The build is fairly easy and quick although a tad repetitive. The finished product looks great and sleek, as well as being solid and durable. There are only two stickers to apply on the whole set (easy ones too) and the rest are printed pieces. As far as playability goes there is really only one feature, the spring firing missiles, which are hidden well and the launching levers blend seemlessly into the design of the ship. The ship is also on the lighter side in weight so it's easy to "swoosh" around. The minifigures, I would have to say, are a must have for a Star Wars fan. The new Kylo Ren with the scar is great and he has a new torso print as well. The elite tie pilot is a nice variation on the regular one and would go well with the special forces Tie Fighter from The Force Awakens line-up. BB-9E is a nice variation (and break) from BB-8 and this set is the cheaper of the two that he's in. There are a couple complaints I have about this set. One is that the cockpit interior has no detail to it whatsoever. There are no control panels or even the little antenna pieces and I think there is plenty of room for either of those. Also, while one doesn't usually look at the back of a set, I think the blue technic pegs that show through ruin the overall black and gray finished look. Covering them would be extremely simple and I am not sure why it was not done. Overall, a very nice set to add to any collection. It looks nice and sleek and is a bit bigger than I thought it was going to be. A good addition to the Tie Fighter family, and let's hope that this time Kylo Ren's ship is still accurate after the movie releases!
