Rated 5 out of 5 by from A nice change for the modular series What a way to begin 2018! Got this beauty of a set first thing this morning and wow am I impressed! Just finished building it. I saw the first pictures of it online a month ago and I knew as soon as I saw it I had to have it.. having previously built the BrickBank and last year's assembly square I was a little concerned however at the style of this set, turns out that it is not such a major issue after all and it fits in with the existing modulars. The era now has gone into the 1950's somewhat and yes the minifigures have expressions on their faces now but I only see that as a good thing.. let's be honest, everything around us evolves all the time so why should the modulars be any different?? The design of the building itself is a work of genius! The creator (Mike Psiaki) has captured the look of a vintage 50's jukebox absolutely perfectly, it couldn't be any better than what it is.. the curves, the colours, the details.. the list is endless.. everything about this set just hits the right mark. I could go as far to say that this is as good if not better than the coveted Parisian Restaurant. However my favourite of all about it is placement.. the fact that there is a Gym upstairs where you go to get healthy and yet downstairs in the Diner they are serving fried bacon, pancakes and milkshakes etc.. that whole Lego modular comedy placement is there and I love it. Yet Another excellent set from Lego! Well done and bring on 2019's build now!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best so far! I have build 5 modulars and this one is the best! I'm glad Lego have rid of classic faces and got more expressions to minifigures because they are amazing and bring more entertainment to the building and theme of it! Building technics for this modular is just amazing, I haven't seen nothing like this before and was wow'ing all the time :) It's almost corner modular, because it has beautiful left side of it with the stairs and backdoors details. Highly recommend it and don't be fooled by negative feedbacks! Enjoy :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lego Diner I've just got the first two sets of bags assembled. I really like the Diner signage. Tile usage to make the sign uses techniques I've never seen before. Read online where some don't like the use of non-traditional faces on the figures . . . Really? If that bothered me, I have a couple hundred old-style faces I could replace them with. Overall this set is one of my favorites. I put it up there with the Detective's Office. It's whimsical and has lot's of interior detail. Every year I look forward to getting the latest modular building. I've managed to get all of them and my Lego Town grows a little each year. It keeps a very old kid happy. Thanks Lego for keeping the modulars going!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another great addition to the Modular series! Every year, I look forward to January 1, when the new Modular building is released in the States. This is my 11th Modular building, and one of my favorites.. After seeing images of the Diner, I immediately loved the design. I know some people don't like the 50's look and how that fits in with the rest of the Modular line, but I think it's a fantastic leap forward for the line. There are so many great, non-traditional building techniques, which is always fun. After years of recatangukar buildings, I found it very refreshing to see a building with so many curves built in to it. The lower level diner is fantastic! From the jukebox, to the ketchup and mustard bottles, the milkshake machine, and the bacon and pancakes cooking on the griddle, its perfect. The middle level gym is also very well done, offering a lot of decorations in a small space. I especially like the heavy bag (that actually swings) and the weights. The upper floor recording studio looks great (I especially like the soundproofing tiles). Lego has made another great Modular building with a spot-on color scheme. Playability is excellent!
