Average Set That Could’ve Been Great.Many missed opportunities that could have made this set great. I want to ask Lego as to why this truck doesn’t have a working suspension? It’s the flagship model of the 40th anniversary of Technic so why not go all out? And instead of using a servo motor for steering they decided to go with an M motor. The problem with this is that the front wheels never recenter after a turn as they would with a servo motor. And the bed of the truck is unfinished completely. It looks like the designer either ran out of time or was in a hurry to go home and said the heck with it!
It’s not all bad however. The build was great fun with very little repetition and the crane arm is sturdy and strong! The play value is good but it has a hard time getting over obstacles due to the lack of a proper suspension.
I would recommend this set only if you can get it at least 30% off MSRP.

Not bad but not greatOk so firstly I was really excited about adding this set to my collection and I even bought 2 to have both the A and B models built but I may not bother with the B model.
The design is only average and could have been so much better from the “flagship” set @ £220. A few details that could have been added with little extra work are:
. Battery box could have had a cover.
. Could have added a flatbed as looks really raw and unfinished.
. Should have had a servo motor instead of the m motor for steering.
Functionality I was pretty impressed at how much this had to offer but then was soon disappointed that I can only use 1 remote to use all the functions.
My favourite parts of the whole thing is the support legs and the teddy bear.
Build was fun and with no numbered bags was a welcomed challenge.
I would not recommend this to anyone unless like myself and others you get this for around 45% off.
Overall I am disappointed in you lego.

Why such a high price?Flagship model checklist:
* Exotic looking sports car or awesome looking off road vehicle? YES
* Power Functions? YES
* Brand name licensing? NO
* Realistic looking? Maybe... The outriggers look very much like what you would find on a real tow truck designed to haul a big rig. The truck itself looks a bit like a customized Russian Ural-4320...
* Multi speed transmission? NO
* Suspension with shock absorbers? NO, It has a fixed front axle and the rear axles are just flapping in the breeze...
* Working V8 engine? NO Well, it does have a straight 4 which wouldn't have enough power to move the truck itself, let alone pull another out of a ditch. Gotta dock some realism points for that one...
* Play or Display? Definitely display only. The differentials and clutches hamper this model's driving capability
* Unique features? Um, do outriggers and a simple tow hook count?
So why does this set cost more than 42055, the biggest Technic set ever released? (42055 Bucket Wheel Excavator, 3929 pieces, $279.99)
The 42069 Extreme Adventure is a far better value is a better candidate for flagship status.

No identity, all over the placeThe criticism regarding this model has been widely covered. Simply put, it was all over the place, excelling in precisely zero categories.
It's a model that's too complex for beginners, and too bland for experienced builders. Functions are ok but limited. Sections of it are finished and/or cool, others are grossly unfinished. The list goes on for every aspect of the set. Wheels and stabilizers are very nice though, and unlike others I really like the dark azure color, although it was the opposite of needed.
But the price is beyond absurd. I bought it because it had some interesting parts and techniques and I got it at 45% discount, but I made it and disassembled it the same day.
I got excited at certain points during the build, but towards the end I was scratching my head as to what they were thinking with this. This was barely worth being the main model of the first part of the year, let alone the flagship. And given this was Technic anniversary year, the taste left is more than sour.
