I do enjoy and recommend the new Lego supercar. After building my Lego Porsche 42056 last year, I am exciting in waiting for the next supercar from Lego. I was luck I bought the latest Lego Bugatti Chiron 42083 from a Lego Store on the first day when it was launched on June 1, 2018.
I spent days and nights in building my new Lego supercar. It took longer time that I predicted as I wanted to enjoy the fun from building and also understood all the magic about the gears. 42083 has a more complicated gear box, a full complete steering system, a better suspension and a new key for controlling the rear wing. Comparing with my 42056, the major advantage of 42083 is its visibility of the gear box and the W16 engine.
About the colour and the appearance of 42083, I do not comment here. It is a very personal opinion and I believe Lego has reproduced as many details as it can by standard parts.
There are a few areas that I want to draw Lego attentions. First of all, the car is a bit too heavy that the suspension does not work well. Secondly, the construction is too compact that it is hard to figure out the composition of the full design and the gear transition. Finally, there is no room for adding parts for motorisation.
Finally, Lego Bugatti Chiron 42083 is better than my prediction. I would like to recommend it to you.

It’s a BeautyThis set was my last hurrah before I deploy overseas. I have the 911 GT3 RS, and this set acts as an excellent companion to it. The color is perfect, it’s a great contrast to the Porsche’s bright orange, and the two tone gives the car a certain pop I really enjoy.
If you are a fan of automobiles, or machines in general, this set was made for you. It features the 16 piston engine like the real thing, a manual transmission with paddle shifters by the steering wheel, working independent suspension, and steering.
While some would find the complicated mechanical functions a chore to build and a nightmare to get right, I love it. I would even go as far to say it’s my favorite part of the build — all the little gears and sprockets coming together and working perfectly is a satisfaction I never tire of. Putting the body panels on is just the icing to a delicious cake.
Everything about this set screams quality. The beautiful rims, the passenger cabin, the engine cover — even the packaging is oozing class. It’s the kind of box you’ll keep just because it looks far too nice to throw out.
The set will look great on my shelf, and I can’t wait to show this and the Porsche off to all my friends and guests.
The price tag is definitely a hurdle many will not want to leap over, and I wouldn’t blame them. But for an enthusiast of both cars and Lego such as myself, it’s worth it. I love this set, and I can’t wait for the next technic car. Fingers crossed for an NSX, Viper, Corvette, or Demon! ✌️

A Building ExperienceI'm a little new to the Technic line, having only built the Rally Car before this. From the moment I opened the box, I knew this would be an experience. Firstly, the box design and presentation is beautiful, love the mosaic of the inner boxes. I love seeing how the engineering comes together throughout the build, and this did not disappoint in that area, the build mimics the actual build process in that the engine and gearbox are built separately and then married to the rest of the body.
Having said all that, I do have a few nitpicks/criticisms:
For the price point, there are a lot of stickers; for $350 USD, I'd expect some custom-printed parts.
The joy of building the massive, 12 cylinder engine is lost under a non-opening rear decklid, you can barely see the pistons working.
The doors seem a little flimsy; only one attachment point and nothing to stop them from going too far into the cockpit when closed.
The model is so heavy, even having 2 shocks per wheel doesn't seem to be enough to hold up its weight.
No room for motors/servos to motorize.
This definitely seems to be more of a static model than something to really be "played" with, but I did really enjoy the build, and it looks fantastic. I will be moving on to the Porsche when my bank account recovers!

The Bugatti of Lego sets. The attention to detail on this set is incredible! From the general body design to the complexities involved in the marriage process. There were challenging times while building the engine, but seeing it come together was very worthwhile and satisfying.
I have many Lego sets ranging from the Millenium Falcon to other UCM's, and this is by far at the top of my list for most rewarding builds.
