My wife loves Scooby Doo but never had any Lego. I bought her this and the rest of the collection for her birthday this year. Not only did she build them, but she displays them in her office. Thank you for making the perfect set for me to share my hobby with my wife.

Like, it's Shaggy here. Like I said in my review for Mummy Museum Mystery, man, these sets are, like, awesome. It's nice to see me in, like, Lego form. And Scooby-Doo too. Like, this set wasn't exactly easy to build, but it wasn't hard. It did take a long time. Seeing all those ghouls we've faced in the past really creeped me out. Like, I almost thought I was live bait for a vampire. Anyway, this set is totally groovy. That man eating plant was, like, pretty creepy. At least there was a hamburger. Daphne and Velma look a lot like they do whenever I see them, so that's good. I like the colors of the mansion, and, like, the overall way the set was built. Honestly, it reminds me of a couple of the creepiest mansions we've ever been to put into one. I would, like, totally recommend this set to a fan of me! Or Scooby-Doo! Or Lego! It's worth the money. Oh, and, like, while you're at it, pick up all the other sets too. Um... Shaggy-Daggy-Doo?

Scooby Doo! It's a Haunted Mansion!
I would recommend this to a friend!
Creepy, haunted buildings appear in almost every episode of Scooby Doo. This Lego set isn't based on one particular haunted mansion from an episode of Scooby Doo and I think that might be it's problem. This set is good but it isn't great. At it's heart Lego is a toy, and this set doesn't provide enough play features considering it's size and price. At a maximum you get four play features. A swinging mace, a carnivorous plant, a hidden key, and a clock tower that turns around to reveal a vampire. I personally believe Lego could have done better than that. The set itself looks great and makes a nice display piece. The Haunted Mansion looks suitably ominous with the use of clever stickers, colours, and build techniques. There are shattered windows, boarded up windows, and in some places it looks like the mansion is falling down. The use of black, purple, grey and dark brown help it to look even creepier. There's the greenhouse with the carnivorous plant and two spooky pumpkins. The main tower has a swinging mace, a place to hide a key, and a clock that turns around to reveal a vampire. The building on the right has a kitchen which looks suitably unused and a second floor with a safe that has 'gold' bars in it. Exclusive to this set is the minifigure of Velma. She looks great and the new hairpiece matches with the original character. You also get Daphne, Shaggy, and Scooby. These are not exclusive to this set, however they all look great. The motorbike with sidecar is a nice feature. The villains are just what you would expect to find in a haunted mansion. A spooky vampire, the Black Knight, and a ghost that has a glow in the dark ability. All have dual sided heads to reveal the crook inside the costume. The build is relatively straightforward and nothing is particularly hard to build nor are there many interesting techniques. This set isn't worth the price, but it's the only way to get Velma, and it does look good as a display piece. This is a good set but it could have been better.

Great Haunted House for a Lego City!

Growing up with Scooby Doo makes having the gang in Lego form an absolute delight. I intend on displaying this set in my City as a haunted mansion, and I must say it stands out beautifully. Fans will not be disappointed, as this unique set is so true to the original material. BUILD: 4/5 The build is taller than expected; the central tower feels the right height to intimidate the minifigs. The exterior is very nicely decorated to feel abandoned and sketchy, but in a cartoonish way. Where it falls short is in the interior: the ideas are good (a greenhouse, a kitchen, an attic, the vampire's clocktower), but there is limited space for the minifigs to interact with the interior. You'll have to rely on imagination for those classic hallway chases between the villains and our heroes. MINIFIGS: 5/5 I would have given it a 4 for not including Fred, but let's be honest: even if he had been included, fans would not have had a complete gang without the Mystery Machine, so this doesn't disappoint me (I would've liked different Shaggy and Scooby between the 2 sets, but that's another story). The hero minifigs are amazing, as they are as close to the original characters as possible, with custom hairpieces, two faces for everyone, and very detailed print on the leg for the gals. The villains are great too, specially because their secondary face reveals the true person behind the disguise; excellent hint to the original Scooby Doo. OVERALL: 4.5 This set is worth it's price. If you, like me, appreciate sets that are locations over more frequent vehicle-based sets, you will enjoy this one. For Scooby Doo fans, whether for display or play or both, it holds true to the cartoon and allows for younger imaginations to create their own mysteries with the given hints and locations, so you will delight with it. Excellent design and enjoyable build, just wish there had been as much detail on the inside as the outside (see Ninjago's Temple of Airjitzu interiors; yes, it is more expensive, but with a 100 pieces more and a retail of 10 USD more it could be done). All in all the pros outweigh the cons on this one for me. SUMMARY: Get if you're into location-based sets and/or are a Scooby fan.
