This was a hugely enjoyable build with my young daughter, interspersed with lots of questions about the movie! So... Pros: Amazing attention to detail and loads of nice features. The opening cupboard drawers are lovely. The bathroom features are simply delightful. The pool table (with pockets) and the printed dartboard are great. Using just flat tiles on the table would make it playable :) Janine's desk and swivel chair are a very nice focal point on the ground floor. The minifigures selection is amazing and Venkman's slime is a neat touch. There are loads and loads of play possibilities, as my daughter's vivid imagination has proven so far. It also makes a great display piece too. Cons: Very few, but by far the biggest for me is the variation in colour of the dark red wall bricks. All the 6x1 bricks in the first floor bags are a different shade to all the other bricks. This, for me, is a huge disappointment as complete uniformity is what I like and what I'd expect from Lego - especially in a set costing £285. Perhaps this is an intended design feature or maybe an unfortunate flaw, but either way a let down for me. I think the first and second floor opening sections would benefit from the addition of a hinge for added stability during the build at least. I repeatedly found myself inadvertently breaking off the first/second floor larger opening sections until they were tied in with the top hinge and roof section. Each floor being held n with just 4 or 5 studs made them very weak mid-build. Like many other reviewers, I'd have preferred printed bricks instead of stickers - especially in a set of this scale. I just don't like stickers. Some bendy, glowing proton beams would have been a really nice addition to lasso those ghosts :) I'm also trying to figure out what the pull down piece is that sits against the wall next to the bathroom. Is this a prop from the movie that I simply can't remember?

Thanks for your review; we're glad to hear that you're enjoying the set! LEGO® bricks are made in batches, a lot like yarn or other textiles. That means that each batch may have very subtle differences in their colors. Our Quality team always checks to make sure that the bricks only have very slight variations, but in rare cases, two batches may look more different next to each other. If there's too much of a difference, then our Customer Service team is happy to help. You can get in touch with us at LEGO.com/Service.

Possibly the best Lego set released
I would recommend this to a friend!
    Purchased for: Self
Having been a fan of Ghostbusters since a young age, and already owning the Lego Ideas Ecto-1 set, as soon as this was announced I knew I had to have one, regardless of the price. I ordered one as soon as they went on sale. The level of detail in the Firehouse is fantastic, with scenes from both films featured and a multitude of little easter eggs hidden around the building. I especially loved the inclusion of the dancing toasted from GB2 and the spaces for proton packs in the lockers on the ground floor. The range of included minifigures is great too, with updated outfits for the Ghostbusters compared to the Ecto-1 set, plus fan favourites such as Dana and Lewis. The icing on the cake is Slimer and the Librarian Ghost though. I feel the best part though is the fact the station can be closed and opened on hinges built into the external walls, and that space was made to allow Ecto-1 to fit in the firehouse - Keeping it closed requires less surface space for displaying it, which is a nice consideration, and the fact you can still fit Ecto-1 in whilst the station is closed (Albeit with the front doors open so the front of the car sticks out) is great. Allowing space for the car ties both sets together well. My only complaint is the weight is substantial and moving house with it is somewhat stressful is you don't want to dismantle and rebuild it! Considering Stay Puft and the Terror Dog exist in the Dimensions line, it would be nice to see them expanded over to fit into this theme too. Perhaps an expansion to include the battle against Gozer could be considered? Or a large scale Stay Puft model to stand alongside the firehouse!

    Luxury, Detail-Oriented Build
I would recommend this to a friend!
I found this set to be very expensive when it was announced, and I don't think I would have ever bought it for myself. Luckily I received it as a gift and I really enjoyed building it. It's a very generously scaled building. The way one would free-build if one had an abundance of bricks. Along with the extra high ceilings, the walls are double thick. It's beautiful and solid. I was worried it wouldn't scale too easily with the rest of the modular builds, but actually it fits in fairly well. Technically, the designers used some nice, clever tricks, with a lot of attention to detail. For fans of the movies there are lots of easter eggs and the potential for scene replication is tremendous. The pieces you get among the 4634 are another interesting way to look at the potential value of this set. 131 2x1 bricks with studs at 90 degrees (6015344)!!! 61 6x1 bricks (4541528), and that's just in the brick-red color!!! That's astounding for any free-building. 2 of these sets would give you enough pieces to build virtually any kind of city building on a very generous scale, as long as you were happy with the colors. And albeit at a hefty $700. I really liked the way the build was structured too. They mixed up the heavy lifting with the fine detailing very nicely, and it was rewarding to watch these intricately sculpted scenes come to life. Again, a luxury feel in the multiple heads for Tully and multiple wigs for Ghost Librarian. As usual I'd push for more printing and fewer stickers, but there's is tons to discover in this set. Dancing toaster is one of my favorites, along with the arcade machine and ice-box style fridge. Ditto the styling in the bathroom, really clever and style-accurate. Minor quibbles. Once agains chairs that minifigs cannot sit on well (I'm looking at you Simpson's House). If you look at instruction 469, why use two 1x1 tiles instead of a single 1x2? SIMILARLY, given the spare no expense feel of the rest of the building, I was surprised to see the use of the large wall panels on the back of the building (leaving a depression). Maybe it was to save weight on the hinged section and they carried it through for consistency, but it would have been nice to use solid bricks there instead. Some nicely colored transparent pieces and of course the fireman's pole is awesome. The traffic light is lovey and the fire escape breaks up the outside surface nicely, and I really like their flying ghost solution to add texture to the other side. Beautiful barn doors, and a shout-out to the designer that did the kitchen sink - that was a new one for me. So, if you want to splurge, if you have a windfall coming your way, it's a great set. The 13 point ratio is tough, but it's really well done. This is the first set I built completely digitally. I pulled the pdf from shop.lego.com and there's a pic of my setup below. It worked really well. I had trouble finding clear instructions for 42025 but this set was no problem, and I didn't have a problem telling colors apart as some others have reported. Logistically Lego must be happy. Very few extra pieces, and nothing really more than a 1x1 tile in weight. Lots of extra whips and an extra fireman's pole (but no handle). In terms of building sequencing, I had one unlabelled bag amongst the free floaters, and because I spotted the Venkman torso, I was able to figure out it was for Set 9. In terms of separation not quite as tight as some other sets. often you'd have a situation that had a 1x2 flat tile in the same bag as a 1x2 single-stud tile. I've had other builds that seemed to be very careful to avoid a situation like that. But again, this is an extremely minor quibble. Building time was longest for the Set 1 - I started the first Ghostbuster's movie when I started the build, and finished at 1:21. By the time I finished Set 2 I was 40 minutes into the second movie. After that I settled into an average of about 45- 55 min per Set. It's a big building and there is some repetition, but once you learn the pattern it goes quickly, and this is where you have to pay particular attention to the 1x1 tiles to keep them even (if that's your thing). Minifigs are great. Nice arm printing. Beautiful job with Dana's outfit. Sharp all around, though admittedly I'm not as picky as some others. So that's it. If you can, you should. P.S. Only thing missing would be a nice fluorescent green wiggly tube to use as a beam from the proton pack. P.P.S. and kudos on the slime coming out of the sidewalk. Beautiful touch!

So after waiting for what seemed like a lifetime the firehouse finally arrived. It took somewhere in the region of 15-16 hours to complete and was very enjoyable throughout. This is going to fit nicely in my den as a large model to look at and enjoy. Pros: Excellent attention to detail used on the small pieces and mini figures, the HQ has everything inside it that you find in the films Takes aspects from both Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II in the inside for the detailed equipment and aesthetics of the HQ Pieces are in numbered bags and the guide tells you which bags you need for each section of the build Cons: Use of stickers for some of the detail pieces. Some pieces were printed others needed the sticker which can cause issues of getting straight etc The instruction guide is printed on black paper which is in keeping with the spooky, ghostly theme of Ghostbusters but not so great for trying to identify the darker pieces needed sometimes. Overall a very pleasing and fun build. This was my 1st Lego build of this kind of scale in over 20 years and I managed perfectly fine. I would recommend this to any Lego or Ghostbuster fan
