Design Defect? This item came with the 60052 Cargo Train set I bought for my boys. When I put new batteries in, it would not work at all. I looked closer and see the metal contacts for the battery top posts are recessed too far and the batteries cannot make contact. I put a small piece of aluminum foil in the recessed hole before putting in each battery and it works perfectly fine. I am using Duracell batteries so it isn't a low quality battery problem. Perhaps I just got one from a bad batch? Or have others experienced this same problem?

Design flaws need to be fixed.I read the other reviews on this, and purchased the premium brand batteries that were recommended. Even then, it did not function. I had to do as many did, and shim the positive terminal with tin foil. Fortunately, it wasn't a huge issue for me. But if a child, or a parent with zero skills had this, it may not have worked out at all. That could be very disappointing for a child ready for a Power functions experience. It's a great product otherwise. Just be prepared to make some modifications to get it to actually work. Fix this please, LEGO.

Too fast for train unless you have the receiverWhy not add a few speeds for this? Without the receiver which is back ordered until after Christmas, the remote is useless. The train goes so fast it runs off the track and falls apart. Misleading/Poor planning lego. The description should explain that it cannot be purchased alone unless you are replacing a battery and you have the rest of the components. Honestly it should be sold as a set battery, receiver and remote.

Tiny springs go flyingWe love Lego but having to replace this piece for a train set because the tiny spring went flying the first time we switched batteries. The train is great, but spending a lot for a 1 cent spring is infuriating.
