Worth the Money! My dad got me this for Christmas. I have built legos all my life and all I can say is that this build is worth all the money spent and is fun to construct and play with. If you’re going to get this for a friend/family member then make sure they are advanced enough to build this. This is more advanced than most LEGO technic builds because the bags do not come labeled with numbers so you have to dump them all in separate piles. Sometimes it is difficult finding certain pieces because there are so many, but even though that’s a challenge, I guess that’s part of building LEGO’s. In the end I would recommend this to anyone who is advanced enough and is partially familiar with LEGO technics.

Exceeds Expectations!I wasn't 100% convinced by this set based on the images i'd seen before release, but a review on a fan site, and a close-up look at the box, helped increase my opinion. Add to that the fact that it was on sale at a nicely reduced price and I couldn't resist!
Now that I've finished building it, I'm 100% convinced! This set is great! Not only is it bigger than I expected (it's easily the same length as the Volvo L350F and Mercedes Benz Arocs), it's just so cool, was a joy to build and has some excellent play features. The winch mechanism is truly genius in it's simplicity, and the doors are a great idea!
This set has a huge number of pieces for the price, and is worth it for that reason alone. Plus, you get lots of cool parts, some parts in colours that i've never seen before and some nice purple panels and beams.
I love the purple, black and yellow colour scheme. It's unique and unlike any other Technic set i've ever owned, plus the attention to detail is a true credit to the designer. The quality of the exterior finish to make this look like a finished vehicle is extremely well done, and the little details inside just add the finishing touch.
I'll be displaying it with pride!
Highly recommended, thanks Lego!

Cool, Unique SetOverall, this set is very good, and has some very cool functions that make it very unique.
The front two tracks of the vehicle are able to be steered left and right via a gear knob at the top of the model, on the roof. It uses Ackermann geometry by linking beams together, which is pretty cool. One small downside to the steering is that it is relatively hard to use because there is a lot of friction on the tracks.
The set uses live axel suspension, meaning that each set of tracks (front and rear) are connected. The suspension works well, especially because the tracks can rotate slightly on the point where they are connected to the vehicle. This lets it roll over many surfaces very smoothly, if you push it hard enough, and keep the steering straight.
3) Four wheel drive and V8 piston engine:
The vehicle has an eight piston engine, which is very cool, and has some nice brick built (non technic) details on it. The driveshaft that is connected to the engine is connected to all four track bogies, meaning that you can lift half of the vehicle off of the ground and the engine will still run. The engine is covered by a hood, which can be lifted up at the front of the vehicle.
4) Cool doors:
The doors of this set are my favorite function. They are very cool. Basically, they are separated into two sections, a bottom and a top, that open kind of like a sports car's door would. They have springs inside that are linked to the bottom and top sections, allowing you to just barely nudge one part of the door open or closed, and it will continue from the power of the springs. These doors are very unique, and have not been featured in any other technic set (that I can think of).
5) Raising roof:
The roof of the vehicle can be raised via a gear on the left side of the car. The roof is attached at the side closest to the steering knob, and raises at the part towards the back of the car.
The winch in this set is also very nice, especially compared to other technic winches in the past. It allows you to pull it out, instead of wind it out, and make it lock again. This makes it much quicker, and easy to use. Then, you can wind the winch back in by a gear on the right side of the vehicle, opposite of the gear that raises the roof.
7) Opening side compartments:
There are some little side compartments on both sides of the vehicle. In each of them there are some cool details, that seem to represent a fire extinguisher and a small safety kit, containing a syringe.
8) Opening and locking back door with drawer
At the back of the vehicle, there is a small door, which can be locked and unlocked by turning a large knob on that door. When opened, there is a small handle that can be pulled to open a small drawer containing a shovel.
This set has many cool functions, that are not used in other sets in the same way they are here, making it very unique. The tracks are also pretty cool, although it would be nice if you could interchange them with wheels easily. The doors are super awesome, and the color scheme is a bit odd (to me), but works well on this vehicle. The set is overall surprisingly light weight (but still heavy), due to the fact that it has not power functions (which is very uncommon for a set of this size). Overall the set is very cool and fun, and I would recommend it to a friend.

Extreme Adventure - 42069I have to say this is one of the best Technic models out in 2017. This set is very well designed with lots of features. I do not believe this truck needs to have power functions. All the static controls give it lots of hours of playability.
This is one of my grand children's favorite LEGO.
