Fun looking build and minifigsI received this as a Christmas gift, and this has proven to be an enjoyable build with some interesting features.
The car itself is indeed large. It will seem out of scale with other vehicles across the Lego lines, but it makes sense when you consider the Joker's personality. There are plenty of purple parts as well as gold accents in addition to other colors to identify this as the vehicle of Batman's archvillian. The trunk opens up to allow two spring shooters to be fired. The vehicle has rubber bands underneath which allow for the lowrider suspension to occur. There are other fun details such as the rooster ornament, the printed zebra tile seats, and the horn on the driver side.
The three minifigures have an amazing amount of detail. Over the years, the printing has really improved. The torsos, legs, and even arms have printed details. Batgirl is included with a cape and a yellow batarang. The utility belt is now its own part rather than a print on the torso. Joker is very colorful as expected, and he is a new variant compared to past Joker minifigures. He has a buildable flag gun as his accessory. Harley is probably my favorite in this set with enormous detailing from head to toe (or skate). Her accessory is a colorful baseball bat.
While the set is expensive, it does have a lot going for it with details and fun features. Kids and even some adults will certainly enjoy this set.

Fun, but out of proportion set at a premium priceI'm an avid Lego collector and DC enthusiast. I have been chomping at the bit to get my hands on these Lego Batman Movies sets since first hearing about the film. This set is a little on the pricey side and the car is comically large compared to other Lego city cars and such. The set comes packaged in 3 numbered bags with 2 directions books, a sticker sheet, and two sets of yellow rubber bands for lowrider effect. The included figures are by far the highlight of the set with Harley Quinn being my favorite.
I put this set together in a little over an hour. The directions are easy to follow and sticker application guide is easy. There are very few stickers in the set, but I believe any set $49.99 and higher should have all printed pieces. I do like the color utilization here and the zebra printed tiles. I do wish the vehicle had come with a full roof.
The car rolls well and has a hidden play feature in the trunk. The trunk house 2 spring loaded missiles that can be fired through activators in speaker system. The low rider function requires a little bit of manipulation, but I could get the vehicle in different poses. It is a little hard to get all 4 wheels to stay down at the same time. The front wheels up and back wheels down is how I have it displayed. The car will roll despite low ground clearance. The back end drags, but your ability to roll is helped by rounded tiles on vehicle undercarriage.
The build is very solid. I would have no problem handing this to a 6-7 year old. I also think someone that age could put this set together with help from parents.
I did not pay $49.99 USD for this set. I found $17 in entry way of my local Toys R Us Thanksgiving night. I used that $17 to offset cost. I think this is a $35 set at most.
Pros: color/variety of pieces, 3 highly detailed mini figures with great print work, zebra printed tiles, minimum use of stickers
Cons: MSRP too high, hard play could lead to rubber band wear, size of car comical, lack of play features, lack of full roof
Conclusion: I think there are better sets out there to spend $50 on. If you are a DC and Batman lover like me...well then you might have to talk yourself into it.
