Addition To The Train FamilyI love the Lego trains. The Lego My own train series, city, creator, system, and all the others. If you can't tell Lego trains are my passion. I like all trains but Lego trains make it fun because, first of all, its LEGO, you can customize them, and they run really smooth. Unlike Lionel. But that's just about Lego trains. This set was one of the 2 only power function trains that ran on diesel and not electric. I loved the engine much more than the yellow train engine in the 2010 summer train sets. But I wasn't really as happy with the cars this time. They're just regular with Some boxes and crates on them. But they're a really good part to your Lego train collection. If you get this set, and one of the track sets you can make a pretty good layout. With only two sets. This year's crane was a lot better than last years I have to say. So were the mini-figures. This set came with a really good amount of track to add to your train layout. This train packed a lot of fun into it. I would recommend using the 9/12 V engine if running with more than 6 cars though. As the power functions aren't that strong around curves. I went off topic again, didn't I? In conclusion I'm really happy with this years summer train sets. You can do ALOT with one set, but even if you get 1 more, the possibilities will be endless! Thanks for reading this, and get the train if you already haven't before they run out of stock. Good Luck :P

A Great Gift for Anybody!I just received this for Christmas and I am very pleased with this set. This is my first LEGO train and actually my first set I've gotten power functions in. The build wasn't very long however it was fun. It took me 2-3 hours to build it though with me taking breaks in between.
Many of the builds were great. I especially liked the crane design how it did go on airplane landing gear with train wheels. Very clever building technique. The office was plain, simple, and not much detail however I cannot complain due to this set being for young children but it would have been better for just a little more detail to the office. The forklift was a great and sturdy build and I do enjoy to play with it especially when taking the cargo off the train/truck. The truck is a nice accessory and build to this set and plays a major role in transporting cargo. The locomotive was a nice and absolutely fun build. Some of the wiring was hard to get through but me and my dad figured it out. The other cars are great especially the one with the cow and the farmer, that one got me the most. The power functions are very interesting in this set. Absolutely had fun with this set. If you are willing to pick this up or thinking about it, go ahead this will be a great set for your collection.
Lots of play ability
Detailed locomotive and cars
Clever but simple building techniques
Uses up to 9 AAA batteries.

Nice upgradable locomotive and setI bought the cargo train in the Super Pack(66493) with set 60050, 7499 and 7895 and I'm very pleasured with it. The set has some nice details like the green wheelbarrow, the forklift, the cow, the container terminal, ...
The main thing why I got this one is that you can easily add a secondary motor on the locomotive. I placed a switch on the front side to connect te secondary motor with the switch.
Before I bought this set I checked online the building instructions to see what are the possibilies and so I made my decission.
I'm very pleasured with this brother of the Maersk train. Good work Lego.

A Nice-Looking TrainThis was the third Lego train that I've acquired. The build is pretty straightforward and offers no surprises. The locomotive is a good-looking one, and quite realistic.
The train comes with three cars/wagons and there's also a crane and a flatbed truck included in the set. The crane is, in my opinion, better than in the previous cargo train set, because it moves more realistically. Also, there's an office right under the crane, which you need for all the paperwork that comes with loading and offloading cargo.
My favorite car/wagon of the three included in the set is probably the one that has the big cable drums on it. The cattle car/wagon looks a bit funny with no proper walls or roof on it (the cow would probably jump off the train if this was the real world) and the fuel car/wagon indeed has an odd assortment of cargo. Why the wheelbarrow and the forklift? Isn't the forklift needed elsewhere (i.e. near the crane)?
I, too, had some trouble with the battery box that is included in the set and had to fiddle with the batteries for some time before the train started to work. Also, the train motor sounds a bit funny and wobbly when compared to the other trains I have. And for some reason, the cattle wagon tends to break off from the train, especially when placed last.
Otherwise, a very nice set that looks good with the other trains I have.
