Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lego gets this one right in 2016...Hope restored. I love Lego Ideas and Lego Creator. I have an affliction for cars and this build definitely satisfies. The cost per piece is on point. All of the labeled elements in this set are printed!! Yes...bonus points to Lego for not making us apply stickers. There are many interesting build techniques here. The set comes in numbered bags 1-3. The instruction book is smaller than most but very detailed. I liked the fact that everything fit nicely in box without instructions having to be folded in half. The engine bay detail and removable hood are quite nice. I love the color as it pops on display with my other Lego cars. I built at my leisure over two nights. This set can easily be put together in under 2 hours. There are a lot of small pieces though so keep in mind this set is intended for older children and adults. I would highly recommend picking this up. I picked mine up at Toys R Us for $79.99 US. The set is also available on Legoshop.com. If you are new to Lego cars, I might suggest trying the Volkswagen Bug, Camper Van, Mini Cooper, or Ferrari before this one as those are bigger in scale. Nothing is lost in this set though. I think the car displays well with others. Pros: Price, color, printed bricks, build satisfaction, displayability Cons: None

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love it, but could have loved it more Don't get me wrong--this is a fantastic set. The Caterham Seven is one of my favourite cars, and since I'll never build a real one, this is the next best thing. I really enjoyed the construction, and everything went together very smoothly. There were a few things I modified to improve fit and finish, but that's part of the fun. More importantly, there were so many extra parts in the box that I was able to tweak with what I had available. The engine detail is fantastic, and the hood pops on and off with ease. The removable trunk hood and roll bars are also great. The reason this gets four stars is that I don't think yellow and black are the best colour choices. You can't see any detail in the all-black interior, which swallows the light. In contrast, the seams in the yellow body panels are really obvious, particularly on the rear fenders. A darker body might have hidden the gaps better. I like the yellow, but I think I would have liked blue or red even more. I want to replace some of the flat panels in the seats to add colour to the interior, and maybe change some of the dashboard panels. And again, that's part of the fun. This is a great success for the Ideas program, and well worth the money for any Caterham/Lego fans.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun This was my first official Lego build outside of building little things in the Lego store in close to 10 years. I bought this because I loved Legos as a kid and I would love to get back into Legos. It was the most fun I have had doing something in a really long time. I had tons of fun building the caterham. Now I want to buy and build more .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Best LEGO Ideas Challenge It’s an eye-catching car collection to own. A real challenge for me. I replace the left angle plate to right angle plate. Reverse inside engine and car side parts. Also steering wheel and foot pedals putting left side, making like as North America style.
