    A Trip Down Memory Lane
    | 19-24
Jeg vil anbefale denne til en ven!
This was a fun build, since I have family in Denmark and am all too familiar with the windmills dotting the landscape across Jutland. I still have many fond memories of watching arrays of windmills while driving past in the car. This set evokes those memories, since it has a nice presence on a table, and looks nice from a distance. My only problems with the set are: (1) that the bags of pieces aren't numbered, making the first half of the build somewhat tedious, since you have to search through a large pile for the right pieces, (2) that the electric motor makes an annoying whining sound when it's running, and (3) that the set seems somewhat overpriced. The motor sound is probably just the way it is, since it's a compact, inexpensive motor. I'd like to leave the turbine running sometimes, but being able to hear the sound even from a room away makes me not want to do so, rendering a fair portion of the set pointless. These problems are pretty small, and all in all I quite like the set, since it still looks great even when not running. Good job, Lego.

    Underwhelmed
    | 14-18
I have to be honest, this set is not the highlight of my collection. Although it now looks quite majestic since it is finished, the build experience was not good. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For starters, there were no bag numbers. This can present problems for young and old builders as it can be confusing and hard to reach all of the pieces if you decide to keep all the bags separate (instead of putting all the bags in one big pile). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Second, like I stated in my profile, I am an expert LEGO builder who has been building since as long as I can remember. My collection consists of over 145,000 pieces and almost 250 sets including Destiny's Bounty, The Millennium Falcon, NASA Apollo Saturn V, Star Destroyer, Hogwarts Castle, etc.. I am not saying this to brag, I am only saying this to back up what I am about to say: This set was hard to build. The power functions were very difficult to maneuver in between the pieces and the turbine itself was unclear in the instruction manual on how to build. In addition, the hill is surprisingly boring. It seems to me like the hill was just used by the LEGO designers to cover up the power functions and to serve as a base for the turbine. Not to mention the value for money on this set, but I won't mention that in this review because it has been focused on by others. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On a higher note, this set is spectacular sitting in my room now that it is built. The Power Functions work very well and the spinning is very smooth. Very cool how the Turbine Spins and the lights of the house turn on. Also, the house was very creative and I loved the modern spin LEGO put on it. Hoping that for sets like this in the future, LEGO is able to make the build experience as phenomenal as the finished project.

    Nice display piece
    | 25-34
I purchased the set a while ago and like it much as a display piece. I disconnected the motor from the battery box as the noise this thing made was like standing inside an old-fashioned windmill. Today I fixed this, the solution was to not press down on one of the (Technic 1x4 with holes) bricks. That gave the necessary play in the gears to stop them from grinding together. Still I think I might remove all the gearing and replace the motor with an old minimotor (if that has enough power) which, to my memory at least, is more silent. The size of the set makes it an eye-catcher. The "unstableness" reported by others is something I have experienced as well. I thought the base of the windmill on the inside of the hill very elegant when building it, but I have had to move it twice (once from the floor to a shelf, and than to another shelf) and the first time I was very careful and moved slowly, tipping the baseplate backwards, while supporting the windmill, the second time I had to do this sideways due to limited access, and the windmill came off the base taking half the hill with it. Relatively easy to fix, but using a tower of 2x2 and 2x4 bricks might have made the thing a bit sturdier. The playvalue of the set is relatively low due to the awkward access to the house. The service van is a nice addition. I have thought of some improvements though (servicemen absailing, making the garden a bit bigger with a fence on the front as well, a denser forrest.) Somethings in the build felt a bit strange, sometimes the steps were only small easy changes, sometimes I felt I had missed something when seeing the next step as stuff did not line up due to odd angles on the instructions. These were mainly the wires and the sides of the generator house. This set has a lot of features that hint at something more. The door on the back for instance, I t would have been nicer at the side or front as the back is the part of the set that you'd rather hide. I like the style of the house and the tiled terrace. Scale is always diffucult with Lego but for me the van is a bit out of scale next to the house, granted it is a tinyhouse, but still, an old-style van might have fitted better. But maybe that is just my age, go Lego System!

    Blown away!

Jeg vil anbefale denne til en ven!
Let me first say that the size is quite impressive. If you dont think the money spent is worth, well let me tell you it is. Despite the low piece count, the fact that the bags are not numbered makes it longer to build, which makes it somewhat equivalent to a set with many pieces that you are building with numbered bags. You will forget about the price once you start building by how unique of a set it is with working lights and how it works and looks. The only negative is when you are building the spinning Black piece at the top it trys to force you to move the cord through the tiny space. In order to do that. You have to remove either the white 3 hole technic or the two small gray technics in order to slip it through which is wierd as you have to put it on first. The other negative is buildingg the spinning rotor which you have to mess around with the propeller gray pieces as the rod is quite difficult to move through the small holes. The Vestas box at the top is a little flimsy too. Overall, the height is impressive and how it looks will make you forget about the price.
