Value for money and HOURS of fun!Bought for my three year olds birthday I was worried it was a little too expensive but the value is absolutely fantastic. Great detailing, the train even whistles every now and then and turns itself off after a while. PLENTY of track ( I was worried when I saw you could buy extra that there wouldn't be much!) lots of added extras for imaginative play I really am so pleased! Even the track peices slot in so easily for tiny hands although construction does need some adult help!
We love it so much it's currently circling our Christmas Tree!!
Definitely recommend as you get plenty for your money x

Great train and can be improved.I like this train a lot and my 3 year old daughter was so excited when she got this set that she’s been playing on the iPad for a long time.
Anyway, the set I got have a few defects. One of the orange roof have a dark spot(not a big issue). The red/blue and red/black swivel won’t come off which limits the playability of these parts because I wanted to connect them to some parts from the around the world set.
One improvement I suggest is removing the outer ledge on the bridge track, just like the regular tracks. These are not necessary and it gets in the way when I use the wheeled duplo blocks. I know they are not meant for the tracks but they work just fine with the flat tracks.

My autistic boy loves itMy little guy is autistic and loves planes, trains and cars. He inherited his uncles battery duplo train set from 20 odd years ago and it's still going strong. Since then we've added the starter train set, the deluxe train set and 2x points and accessories pack and an extra bridge (via the spares shop). He takes over my living room and can build it himself. He's very heavy handed and chews alot but all the track, trains etc are all going strong regardless. i also love that because it hasn't changed, ever, you can very easily add to it with secondhand bits!!!
I highly recommend all the train sets, they may seem an expensive outlay but they will go on and on and seem to be indestructable (trust me we've tried!!)

Falls apart too easily, not for preschoolersI am a huge Lego lover and I was so excited to get this for my 3 year old. What a mistake! The trains are fun if you don't touch them. The kids want to pick them up in the middle, the obvious place to pick up a train, but the pieces don't stay together and it falls apart every time. The train can only be picked up by the back piece. The tracks that come with it come apart easily, more easily than with a wooden train. The tracks do stay together if you put other duplo blocks to lock them together but then you have to have a ton of extra blocks. And enough extra blocks to prop up the accessories like the crane and ticket booth, which the train doesn't fit under once you lock the tracks together with extra blocks. Once you finally get it all set up, don't expect the crane to stay on the swivel base unless your child holds it in exactly the right way. It is hard for me to play with the set and not have it crumble and fall apart, so I don't understand how it is marketed toward preschoolers who are still fine tuning their motor skills. Most of the tracks in this set are curved and it is difficult for the little guys to put a train that is more than one car on the curved tracks. The last thing is that the whole thing is huge! You need an entire room to make an interesting track pattern or something that is other than a simple loop. This is the most frustrating toy my 3 year old has. It would be much more fun to play with if I glued the main pieces together but that defeats the purpose of Lego...
