Rated 5 out of 5 by from 'Where is Padmé? Is she safe?' The last time a Lego Darth Vader transformation set was released was in 2005 when Revenge of the Sith came to cinemas. This set is an amazing improvement! It's an easy build with the most time consuming parts being the mechanisms for the play features. These work really well actually and it's very fun being able to slide Vader's mask onto his head. The room can be 'destroyed' with the push of some levers to replicate Vader's rage. The movie accuracy is very good although I think the medical table is a bit oversized compared to a minifigure. The medical droids are excellent and really detailed. I like how one 'hovers' by being on a transparent piece. The inclusion of the lightsabers adds some extra playability even if this feature isn't accurate - Vader only gets his red lightsaber some time afterwards. The minifigures are fantastic! Palpatine is typically evil looking with detailed printing on his robes - even the clasp of his cloak. The use of metallic grey to represent Anakin's cybernetic limbs works well and his expression matches that in the film: resigned to his fate. Finally of course is Vader with a cloth cloak and his helmet which comes in two halves. This set really captures an iconic moment in the Star Wars universe and is a must-have for any fan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best Star Wars set I have Purchest by far... I have purchased hundreds of Lego sets but this by far has to be the best Star Wars set I've purchased ever (and I say this owning the death star) As for the price you pay you get and incredible line up of minifigures plus 3 brick built droids not even mentioned in the fig line up, you also are able to create one of the most Iconic scenes from star wars and as a collector of sets that look good on display all you need is a dark surface to put this set on and it looks incredible! As for the build, it was surprisingly not too repetitive and uses some interesting bricks as well. With plenty of room to place minifigures. The set also is relatively compact as well so it won't take up any unnecessary space on the shelf. The only thing if we are nit-picking that I felt could have made this set exceptional was an extra Vader helmet piece so that you could display Anakin on one side and then use the Vader fig for something else. But that said this is a tiny thing. Overall if you like this scene from the films buy this set and if you don't like the prequel trilogy much but have not yet got a Vader fig, your not likely to find a cheaper way to get him anytime soon so I would pick this up just for that!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly playable! This set looked interesting enough to give it a try even though I already had Vader and Palpatine minifigs from the Death Star Final Dual set. I did not regret this decision after assembling the set. The minifigs are obviously highly desirable with the two most famous Sith lords in the galaxy. Getting them together and in something this inexpensive is rare, so get them while you can! There is also battle damaged Anakin Skywalker ready to wear the full suit. The printing is very good on all three minifigs. Three buildable droids add to the character selection. They are easily recognizable from the film and come with some nice accessories. The set does a good job of faithfully recreating the medical chamber where Vader is fully converted into his mechanical form. The playable features include the ability to "change" Anakin to Vader, put the helmet on, raise up the platform so Vader can stand up, and simulate Vader's anger at some bad news, thus knocking the droids down. There are also two lightsabers provided. Perhaps the two Sith Lords could duel each other? Overall, this set is good for display value as it is a nice way to recreate the scene from the prequels. One could have a lot of fun with this set. It is definitely designed well and could have a lot of possibilities. We have already used it to place Boba Fett's helmet on him, and we will probably seek out other helmeted minifigs to "crown" them as well. A definite thumbs up on this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A much needed improvement (Like Vader's armor) This set is a remake of a 2005 set, Darth Vader transformation, and builds well on it's predecessors key factors. By still including the Anakin/Vader turntable, and improving it by means of a relatively simple axl turntable, this set already acomplishes more than the original. Furthermore, I was pleasantly suprised by the inclusion of Emperor Palpatine, whose current tan variant is considerably rare. The minifigures in this set are aesthetically pleasing and enjoyable. Anakin skywalker is an improvement over the previous, 2012 version, being more movie accurate and slightly less... orange, whilst Vader, with his new and improved helmet, now coming in two parts helps to capture that gloomy face shot when his helmet is placed over his head. Palpatine is an enjoyable minifigure, being the same as his Death Star variant, and fx-4, the medical droid with many arms has been brilliantly redesigned. The major feature of the set is the actual 'transformation' and it is as effective as it is simple. The addition of the helmet 'placer onner' is very welcoming, as it adds more flair to an otherwise simple set. Overall, this set is thoroughly enjoyable and a must have, even if you get it just for the minifigure palet, and therefore I recommend you purchase it.
