Rated 5 out of 5 by from Snoke's Elite Praetorian Guard These guards are clearly inspired by the Emperor's Royal Guards, but as stated in an interview with the costume designer, are also influenced by Samurai. This has to be one of my favourite build-able figures. It's very movie accurate when compared to official images and has a great design. The build isn't complicated and is very pose-able. The shoulder plates nor the tunic limit the pose-ability. The helmet has been moulded to a perfect likeness and there's even detailing on the back. The weapon can either be one long staff or split into two. The play feature works quite well, especially when using the weapon as a staff. It doesn't work very well when they're separate blades. Also, the play feature means that the figure can't be displayed from the back as it looks messy due to the technic pieces. I think this is the best figure from The Last Jedi range and a perfect addition to any collection. I'd just like to see them in action now in the film!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good-looking set! I’ve been a fan of constraction since the early 2000s, so I decided to buy this awesome-looking set (definitely the highlight and probably the best set of this current wave). The torso build is interesting, however this vertical swing gimmick looks a bit awkward to pose unless his weapon is added for a perfect but average playability. Overall, the design/build is pretty solid aesthetically, and I’d highly recommend if you are a kid or AFOL (I’m an AFOL btw).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good but hard to customise... I really like this figure. it has a great design and the weapon pieces, helmet and shoulder pieces and the cape are my favourite parts. the one problem i had is that the back with the action feature really lets the figure down and was really hard to customise to look better with the pieces i had, but it turned out okay in the end. but i would definitely recommend the figure, just not to a collector who likes movie accuracy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The set: it's good, folks Before The Last Jedi came out, it wasn't clear what, if any, role these guards would have in the movie. Well, how about being part of one of the most pivotal scenes in the character arcs of the main hero and villain? In relation to the movie, this is a good set to get. You can pit it against the Rey set if you have her, or just have it in cool poses. The double-bladed weapon, which you can also split apart, definitely helps in that regard. For the set itself, the build is solid, pretty standard for the Star Wars figure line but with a well-integrated TECHNIC function. The cool thing about the function is that it's an improvement on previous functions used in the BIONICLE Skull Basher set and Star Wars K-2SO set, which tended to be floppy and loose. This function is much more solid and works well with the double-handed weapon. Also, it's all red! Not your usual Star Wars figure color, and this set uses it head to toe, including some parts that hadn't been in red before. The new molds are a treat, with the shoulder armor matching the film fairly well while being a cool shell attachment on its own. The blades are very nice, as they resemble the actual blades from the film while being small and generic enough to be extremely versatile. The cloth skirt looks fantastic and does not inhibit leg posing at all. For recolors, it's great that the shin armor is being made in more colors, and vibrant ones at that, and the ball joint pieces used for the shoulders have only ever come in dark gray before. The only thing I'd wish to see from this set would be the inclusion of two additional head pieces that matched the other guards' helmets so you could swap them out and make a full set of 8, but that would likely be a pricey proposition. Outside of the large non-standard figures like General Grievous or Darth Vader, I'd say this is probably one of the best figures to have come out so far. It's got neat pieces, a cool look, and a nice function. The only thing you won't get out of this is a particularly in-depth or outside the box building experience, as this is a fairly standard set in that regard. But still definitely worth getting. Note: I did get this set for free, but I'm planning on buying a second one, so I'll let that be a final statement on how I feel about it.
