What is the difference between a LEGO Gift Card and a LEGO e-Gift Card?

A LEGO Gift Card is a wallet-sized, plastic card that works like a debit card. A LEGO Gift Card can be applied to any LEGO purchase at LEGOshop.com, by phone order or at any of the LEGO Stores up to the amount for which it was issued, including all merchandise, shipping charges and taxes. A LEGO Gift Card is presented in a small carrier with a personalized letter and shipped via USPS.

A LEGO e-Gift Card is an electronic “card.” A LEGO e-Gift Card can be applied to any LEGO purchase at LEGOshop.com or by phone order up to the amount for which it was issued, including all merchandise, shipping charges and taxes. A LEGO e-Gift Card is sent via email in HTML format. If the recipient’s email does not accept HTML emails, a text version will automatically be sent.

 
Where can I use a LEGO Gift Card or e-Gift Card?

A LEGO Gift Card may be used at LEGOshop.com, for phone orders or at any of the LEGO Stores.

LEGO e-Gift Cards can only be used online at LEGOshop.com or for phone orders. They cannot be used at LEGO Brand Retail stores or other retail stores.

 
How do I redeem a LEGO Gift Card or e-Gift Card?

To redeem a LEGO Gift Card, you’ll need your card number and PIN code. When you receive your plastic LEGO Gift Card, just scratch off the PIN box on the back of the card to see your PIN code. For online orders, enter the Gift Card number and PIN code in the appropriate fields when you check out. For phone orders, the Customer Service Representative will ask you for your Gift Card number and PIN code. For LEGO Store purchases, present your LEGO Gift Card to the Sales Associate.

To redeem a LEGO e-Gift Card, enter the 19-digit code from your LEGO e-Gift Card email in the appropriate fields during checkout, or give the number to the Customer Service Representative when placing a phone order.

Please note, LEGO e-Gift Cards can only be used online at Shop.LEGO.com and for LEGO phone orders. They cannot be used at LEGO Brand Retail stores or other retail stores.

 
How long does it take to deliver a LEGO Gift Card or e-Gift Card?

A LEGO Gift Card is delivered via USPS Standard Mail free of charge within 4 to 7 business days (Monday through Friday excluding holidays). A LEGO e-Gift Card is sent via email and generally arrives in the recipient’s inbox within 4 hours.

 
How can I check the balance on my LEGO Gift Card?

You can check the balance of your LEGO Gift Card online any time at http://shop.lego.com/en_DK/Gift-Cards-Balance.
At this time, you cannot check the balance of your LEGO e-Gift Card.

 
Do LEGO Gift Cards or e-Gift Cards ever expire?

No. As long as there is value remaining on your LEGO Gift Card or e-Gift Card, it will not expire. And there is no fee for holding on to a card beyond a specified time.

 
How do I return merchandise purchased with a LEGO Gift Card or e-Gift Card?

The same way you return all other LEGO merchandise. If you request a refund on an item, you will be issued a LEGO Gift Card in the amount of the refund.

 
What if I accidentally delete the email message with my LEGO e-Gift Card?

How can I be sure that the e-Gift Card I sent has been received?

To be certain the LEGO e-Gift Card has been received, please check with the recipient. Most LEGO e-Gift Cards are delivered successfully within 4 hours of your order. As with all email, a number of factors could prevent a card from being delivered to a recipient’s inbox; these include: a full inbox, an invalid email address or a spam filter. We will issue a new LEGO e-Gift Card if we are notified that one was not delivered.

 
When is my LEGO Gift Card or e-Gift Card activated?

Your LEGO Gift Card or e-Gift Card is activated as soon as you receive it.

 
What is the difference between a LEGO Gift Card/e-Gift Card and a LEGO Gift Certificate?

The LEGO Gift Card and e-Gift Card are our new Gift Card formats. Prior to the introduction of LEGO Gift Cards and e-Gift Cards, we issued LEGO Gift Certificates, which were paper instead of plastic, and LEGO Electronic Gift Certificates, which were simply a different design format than today’s LEGO e-Gift Cards. We no longer issue LEGO Gift Certificates or LEGO e-Gift Certificates; however, we do still accept them.

 
What if I still have a LEGO Gift Certificate?

You can still redeem LEGO Gift Certificates at LEGOshop.com or by phone order; however, they are not redeemable in the LEGO Stores.

 
Can more than one method of payment be used during a purchase?

You may use a LEGO Gift Card or e-Gift Card in combination with a valid credit card if your purchase exceeds your Gift Card or e-Gift Card amount .You may use up to 7 LEGO Gift Cards on a single order, or up to 7 LEGO e-Gift Cards on a single order, but not LEGO Gift Cards and e-Gift Cards in combination toward a single order.
