Registered LEGO® VIP Program Membership Required for Entry.

Overview: The LEGO® VIP Program expects to sign up its One Millionth registered  Member sometime soon.  To help us celebrate this milestone, and to reward our members for their enthusiasm for the LEGO brand, the LEGO Group announces this LEGO VIP Program One-In-A-Million Sweepstakes.  Grand Prize: One lucky VIP Member will win a trip for 4 to any LEGOLAND® Park in the world, including behind the scenes access.  Runner Up Prizes: Ten Runner Up Prizes of 1,000 VIP points will also be awarded.

Who May Participate: Open to all existing and newly joining LEGO VIP members, 18 years of age or older as of the sweepstakes closing date, who are legal residents of any of the countries in which the LEGO VIP Program operates, except  for the Canadian province of Quebec and where prohibited by law.  Employees of the LEGO Group and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate.  Limit: one entry per person.  Any person found to have submitted more than one entry, in Sponsor’s sole judgment, will be disqualified.

How to Enter (4 Ways):

Complete any one of the 4 steps below for automatic entry into the LEGO VIP One-in-a-Million Sweepstakes.

1) Eligible existing VIP members with registered accounts will be entered automatically; or
2) Prospective new VIP members may sign up during the checkout process following any purchase at Shop.LEGO.com; or
3) Prospective new VIP members may join by signing up in any LEGO® Store, and then registering their account by completing the online registration process; or
4) Prospective new VIP members may sign up by phone by calling the LEGO Customer Contact Center (1-800-835-4386) , and then registering their membership by completing the online registration process.

Note: No new purchase is required to enter using Method 1 above; Entry using Method 2 above requires a purchase through shop.LEGO.com; No purchase required to enter using Methods 3 or 4 above.  Making a purchase will not increase the odds of winning.

To be eligible, new LEGO VIP memberships must be registered no later than 11:59 pm, August 31, 2012, local time in the member’s place of residence.  Members registering their VIP accounts after this time will not be eligible.

How to Win:  Potential Prize Winners will be selected by random draw, to be conducted by Sponsor on or about September 7, 2012, and will be notified by telephone or by email on or about September 14, 2012.

In order to be certified as the Official Grand Prize Winner, the selected Potential Grand Prize Winner must complete and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Prize Selection and Acceptance, and Release of Liability form.  Potential Grand Prize Winner will also be required to complete and return a Publicity Release form, unless prohibited by local law.

Each Potential Runner Up Prize Winner will be required to acknowledge and return a Statement of Eligibility and Prize Acceptance email message before he or she may be declared a Runner Up Prize Winner.  Sponsor will credit 1000 VIP Points to each Runner Up Prize Winner’s VIP account as soon as practicable after receipt of verification documentation.

Any Potential Prize Winner who does not return the properly completed documentation within ten (10) days of transmittal will be declared ineligible, and an alternate Potential Prize Winner will be selected at random.

Prize Details:

Grand Prize – One Grand Prize Winner will be awarded a family trip for 4 to any LEGOLAND® Park worldwide.  Odds of winning: approximately 1:1,000,000.

LEGOLAND Prize consists of:

• Round trip economy airfare for four (4) persons from the major airport closest to Grand Prize Winner’s home to the major airport closest to the selected LEGOLAND Park;
• A three (3) night hotel stay for a family of 4, quad occupancy;
• A two (2) day Family Ticket to any LEGOLAND Park, good for admission for 2 adults and 2 children
• An exclusive behind-the-scenes  guided tour of the park; and
• An exclusive LEGO Model Building session, led by a LEGOLAND Park Model Builder, wherein each member of the Grand Prize Winner’s party will be able to build and place their own Minilander figure.
• Total estimated value: $4,400.00 USD

NOTES: Ground transportation; separately imposed airline fees or airport fees or taxes; passport, visa or other travel documentation expenses; checked luggage fees; meals; and incidental expenses are NOT INCLUDED.  Travel dates must be requested with 90 days advance booking notice. Travel dates subject to availability. Black out dates may apply including exclusion of major holidays and high volume travel dates. Booking is based on the discretion of LEGOLAND. Trip must be taken within twelve (12) months of prize award notification.

Runner Up Prizes:

• 10 Runner Up Prizes to be awarded;
• Each Runner Up Prize consists of 1000 VIP Points;
• Odds of winning: approximately 1:100,000
• Value of each Runner Up Prize: $50.00 
• This prize is subject to the standard VIP Points expiration rules as highlighted in the VIP Program terms and conditions. Therefore the points, if not used, will expire on 31st December 2014.

General Terms and Conditions:

Sweepstakes valid only in those countries in which the LEGO VIP Program operates, currently (Austria, Australia, Belgium, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, Spain, Finland, France,  Hungary, Ireland, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, United Kingdom, United States, Canada, New Zealand, Italy and Sweden), except for South Korea and the Canadian province of Quebec.  Void where prohibited by law.

Prizes are non-transferable and there are no cash alternatives.  Any applicable taxes, governmental fees, and other expenses resulting from the prize are the sole responsibility of the Prize Winner unless otherwise stated.  Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value in the unlikely event that it becomes impractical to award the stated prize.

All entry materials become the property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned. False and/or deceptive entries or acts shall render entrants ineligible.

Any information collected by registering to enter the Sweepstakes shall be used only in a manner consistent with these Official Rules and with the LEGO Group Privacy Policy, which can be found at http://aboutus.lego.com/en-us/legal-notice/Privacy-Policy

By entering, each entrant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, whose decisions are final and binding with respect to all matters related to this Sweepstakes.

Entrants agree to release, discharge and hold harmless Sponsor, its directors, officers, employees and assigns, harmless from and against any and all liability and damages associated with or arising out of an entrant’s participation in this Sweepstakes.

By participating, entrants agree to have their name and town of residence published in a Winners’ List, to be made available to the public in accordance with these Official Rules. Grand Prize Winner will be identified in the Winners’ List by first and surname, and town and country of residence.  Unless otherwise required by law, the Runner Up Prize Winners will be identified in the Winners’ List only by first name, surname initial, and town and country of residence.

Special rules for Canadian residents:  To be declared a winner, a potential Prize Winner who is a resident of Canada must correctly answer an arithmetical skill-testing question and return the answer along with Potential Prize Winner documentation as described above.  Noncompliance within the specified time period or return of any prize notification as undeliverable will result in disqualification without further notice and an alternate winner will be selected.  (End of Canadian residents special rules).

The Potential Prize Winners will be determined by random drawings from all eligible entries received. The drawings will be conducted by members of the LEGO® VIP Program Marketing Team, whose decisions shall be final.

Any Potential Prize Winner who declines to accept a prize, has violated any of these Official Rules, does not respond to the award notification within the specified time, or is found to be ineligible will be disqualified and an alternative Potential Prize Winner shall be chosen.  For a list of prize winners, please send request, along with a stamped self-addressed envelope to LEGO® VIP Program One-In-A-Million Sweepstakes Winners List, (LEGO Company, 33 Bath Road, Slough, SL1 3UF, UK).

By accepting a prize, Grand Prize Winner agrees to the use of his or her name, likeness and entry materials for the purpose of advertising or trade without compensation, except to the extent prohibited by law.

Traveling companions (or parent/legal guardian if traveling companion is a minor) must also complete and return a Release of Liability, not later than thirty (30) days prior to the scheduled departure date.  If a minor is selected as a traveling companion, he or she must be accompanied by his or her parent or legal guardian who will count as one of the Grand Prize Winner’s guests.  It is the responsibility of all travelers to ensure that they possess all required travel documents prior to departure. Dates of departure and return are subject to change.

All prizes to be awarded.  In no case will more than the stated number of prizes be awarded.

Sponsor reserves the right to alter, amend or close this Sweepstakes if necessary. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes, or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. The use of any device or computer software program to automate the entry process is prohibited.

Sponsor is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate entry information; human error; typographical or transcription error; technical malfunctions; failures, omission, interruption, deletion, or defect of any telephone network computer online systems, computer equipment, servers, providers, or software, including any injury or damage to participant’s or any other person’s computer relating to or resulting from participation in this sweepstakes; inability to access any web site, theft, tampering, destruction, or unauthorized access to, or alteration of entries; or transactions that are processed late or incorrectly or are incomplete or lost due to computer or electronic malfunction or traffic congestion on the Internet or on any web site, or printing or other errors.
